At Comfort The Nation, we are committed to creating lasting change by meeting both immediate needs and long-term opportunities. We believe that education and basic necessities go hand in hand—you can’t learn if essential needs aren’t met, and providing essentials without education doesn’t create lasting impact. That’s why we focus on both.

Making A Lasting Difference

We believe that education and basic necessities go hand in hand—you can’t learn if essential needs aren’t met, and providing essentials without education doesn’t create lasting impact.
That is why our work is two-fold.

Our Work

we are committed to creating lasting change by meeting both immediate needs and long-term opportunities.

At Comfort The Nation, we are committed to ensuring that families in need have access to food, clothing, and everyday necessities. Many communities in Liberia face hardship, and our goal is to provide direct, tangible relief through essential supplies.

We are fortunate to have dedicated volunteers on the ground in Liberia, who serve as our point of contact and distribution team. They ensure that donated goods and funds reach the people who need them most, particularly in rural villages where resources are scarce.

Annual Comfort The Nation Give Day – December 13th
Each year, we host a special day of giving on December 13th to raise funds for essential food supplies. All donations collected go directly toward purchasing bags of rice and palm oil, which are then distributed to families in need. This annual initiative has become a vital part of our mission, bringing nourishment and hope to countless households.

Clothing & Supply Shipments
In addition to food aid, we collect and ship barrels of clothing, hygiene products, and household essentials to Liberia throughout the year. These shipments are sent from our base office in North Carolina and delivered directly to our team on the ground for distribution.

How It Works:
✔ Donations are collected – Items are gathered through fundraisers, drop-offs, and our Amazon Wish List.
✔ Barrels are packed and shipped – Each shipment costs $200 to send overseas.
✔ Supplies are distributed – Our Liberia team delivers them to villages and families in need.

Impact:
On average, our food program provides 3–4 weeks of nourishment for 10+ families each year, offering stability during times of scarcity. When funding allows, our supply barrels extend that reach even further, impacting more than 100 people annually with essentials like clothing, hygiene products, feminine care, educational materials, and basic medications. Together, these efforts ensure that hundreds of community members receive vital support each year through CTN’s Essentials Program.

" Scholarship PROGRAM"

At Comfort The Nation, we believe education is the foundation for a brighter future. Our mission is to remove financial barriers so children can access quality learning opportunities and build a path to success.

Through the "Whitney Michele Impact Scholarship", we fundraise and provide full scholarships that don’t just cover tuition, but also the hidden costs that keep children out of school. Each scholarship ($150–$250 USD per year) includes:
✔ Tuition & Registration Fees
✔ Required School Supplies (notebooks, pens, textbooks)
✔ Uniforms & Shoes (when required by schools)

We operate with two categories of scholarships:

  • Academic Achievement – For students maintaining strong grades who submit a short essay or video about their goals and motivation.
  • Resilience & Potential – For students facing personal hardship or learning differences who may not meet GPA standards, but demonstrate determination to learn and grow.

Applications are reviewed annually by the CTN board, and funds are wired directly to our trusted partner in Liberia, who ensures payments to schools and collection of receipts.

Since launching in 2022, CTN has awarded scholarships to two repeat students, with 6 projected for the 2025–2026 school year. Each award provides dignity, stability, and opportunity—empowering students to learn, grow, and dream beyond their circumstances.

The Whitney Michele Impact Scholarship was established to honor the remarkable life and legacy of Whitney Michele—a woman whose presence radiated the peace of Jesus and whose life was marked by unwavering obedience to God. She was a worship leader, a daughter, a wife, and the dearest friend of Comfort, our founder.

About OUr

"Whitney Michele Impact Scholarship"

Whitney went home to be with the Lord—a profound loss to all who knew and loved her. Yet her light continues to shine through this scholarship, created in her memory to carry forward the impact she made on so many lives. She was a true light in the world—serving others with grace, intention, and joy. Whether through quiet acts of kindness or bold steps of faith, she continually asked, “How can I be a light to those around me?” And then she lived the answer. Her deep love for the Lord shaped every part of her life. She led with compassion, walked in peace, and inspired all who knew her through the way she lived and loved.

This scholarship exists to carry that light forward—by supporting individuals who reflect Whitney’s heart: those who lead with purpose, serve with humility, and strive to make a lasting impact in the lives of others.

Comfort the Nation is proud to be a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible as permitted by law.

Receiving official tax-exempt status marks an important milestone in our journey and affirms our commitment to operating with integrity, transparency, and accountability.

Becoming a recognized nonprofit allows us to expand our reach, access additional funding opportunities, and ensure that all eligible donations are tax-deductible, helping us deepen our impact in Liberia and beyond.

Building a Strong Foundation
From the beginning, we have been intentional about building Comfort the Nation on a solid legal and operational foundation. We partnered with experienced nonprofit professionals to ensure our organization was established responsibly and in full compliance with federal requirements.

Attorney Pat Gibert, a specialist in nonprofit law, guided the preparation and filing of our 501(c)(3) application and continues to advise us on best practices for governance, bylaws, and long-term legal structure.

We worked closely with Liz Kinsfather of Kinsfather Consulting, a nonprofit specialist who supported our early formation process and provided strategic guidance on nonprofit operations, sustainability, and mission-driven growth.

Transparency & Accountability
We believe trust is earned through openness. Comfort the Nation is committed to financial transparency, responsible stewardship, and clear communication with our community. Our board of directors works diligently behind the scenes to ensure that funds are used thoughtfully and aligned with our mission.

Liberia trips

When our founder travels to Liberia, she brings Comfort the Nation’s mission to life in powerful and personal ways. Each visit is filled with deep connection, joy, and lasting impact.

Through these trips, she continues to live out both pillars of our nonprofit’s vision—meeting essential needs and empowering through education and faith. With the support of local partners, she distributes vital provisions to families and leads cheer clinics for young girls, creating safe spaces for them to move freely, express themselves, and dream big.

She also shares words of encouragement, reads scripture, and speaks life into the community—reminding each girl of her God-given worth, strength, and purpose.
